Rafael Ortiz, co-founded NexTag, the largest comparison shopping site for products and services, in 1999 and served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. He retired from the company after it’s $1.2 Billion sale in 2007. Prior to NexTag Rafael served as an evangelist for Apple Computer and in sales for ROLM/IBM. He is the co-author of In Company of Giants (McGraw-Hill 1997). Mr. Ortiz has an MBA degree from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Justin spent eleven years in Democratic donor consulting and formed the largest private political management firm in the United States before becoming a photographer for clients including The Economist, Cultured Magazine, C Magazine and more. His subjects range from Barack Obama, Anna Wintour and Tom Ford, to Serena Williams, Johnny Ive, and more. He has a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Santa Clara, and a Juris Doctor from Hastings.
Sara graduated from Parsons NYC and Paris with a Masters in Architecture before returning to the West Coast where she worked in interior architecture and design.
Sara holds certifications from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in Art Business and Antique Connoisseurship, and Bachelors of Arts in Art History and English Literature from The University of Washington.
Sathappan Subramanian was Chief Technology Officer of NexTag where he spent thirteen years. Prior to NexTag, he was the Senior Developer at SIP Technologies before consulting for Deutche Bank in Singapore. He has a Master of Engineering Management from Santa Clara University.
Christine founded a succesful clothing boutique in Los Altos, and directed expansion to Palo Alto before joining Project YX. She leveraged her work in purchasing and marketing at tech firms, gaining national recognition for discovering and promoting independent clothing designers prior to their international popularity.
